Legal or at-home Aunt/Uncle (avuncular) DNA testing may be used if the alleged father is unavailable for testing. The alleged father’s brother or sister may be tested with the child to determine if there is a biological relationship.
The aunt-uncle DNA test is perfect when there are no samples for a deceased alleged father or he is unwilling to participate in the test and the only relative available is a single sibling, brother or sister of the alleged father.
